Francesca is a Senior Lecturer in Water & Environmental Engineering at the University of Bristol. Her main research interest is the application of mathematical modelling to advance the understanding and support the sustainable management of human-environment systems.
Francesca’s current research deals with the quantification and attribution of uncertainty in mathematical models. She works towards both methodological advances and pilot applications, especially for natural hazard assessment, and knowledge transfer – particularly to the (re)insurance industry. Francesca is the lead-author of the SAFE toolbox, which is widely used for global sensitivity analysis across environmental sciences and engineering.
