3rd Annual Climate Risk Europe Virtual Week
14-16 September 2021 | Online
The Economist’s Climate Risk Virtual Week convened thought leaders, investors, regulators, policy makers, sustainability professionals and scientists to delve deep into conversations about the impact that climate-related risks will have on businesses and how management can respond.
Dr Ben Caldecott, Director of the Oxford Sustainable Finance Group at the University of Oxford and Director of the UK Centre for Greening Finance & Investment, joined speakers on Day 2 of the event, which explored the theme Climate Change Risk Management in High Impact Sectors.
Dr Caldecott led the keynote academic address: Transforming spatial finance, space technology and data science into informed decision-making.
He asked: How will earth observation and remote sensing combined with machine learning help transform the availability of information in financial systems? How will it support the financial markets to better measure and manage climate-related risks, as well as risk and return in different asset classes?
