The European Space Agency (ESA) is launching a grant funding call for new business ideas that leverage space-based datasets and technologies to support and enable finance for a green transition. ESA will fund 80% of the total project cost, up to €200K per award.

Proposals can address challenges across greening finance and financing green, including: assessment, mitigation or reporting of transition or physical climate risks; financing and planning climate adaptation and resilience; and developing, monitoring and verifying nature-based or green financial products. In November 2022, CGFI launched a partnership with ESA Space Solutions to accelerate the uptake of space-based solutions to support the greening of the financial system.
