This review article, co-authored by Quintin Rayer, CGFI Associate Business Fellow, discusses global warming induced extreme weather events and presents a framework for the attributable damages for extreme weather events for high GHG-emitting organisations.

 

Summary

This review article introduces the theory behind warming-induced changes of the global water cycle and includes a discussion of the implications of this theory at global and regional levels. A few recent attribution studies demonstrate how the role of humans in altering the odds of extreme weather occurring is quantified.
