Patricia Grant

Leeds Innovation Hub Manager

about

Patricia (‘Trish’) is the Innovation Hub Manager leading the development of the UK Centre for Greening Finance and Investment (CGFI) Leeds Innovation Hub, at the University of Leeds. The hub serves as a place for financial institutions, academics, climate scientists, and analytics businesses to connect, collaborate, and innovate. A key aspect of her work is providing a pathway for understanding needs and making the latest science accessible, commercialised, and exported globally, positioning the UK as a global leader in climate and environmental analytics for financial institutions. Working at the intersection of climate science and industry, she is responsible for delivering outcomes associated with innovation and ecosystem building within UK CGFI, as well as supporting analytics businesses within this ecosystem. To achieve these goals, she works closely with the UK CGFI academic and industry stakeholder communities, as well as with colleagues at the second innovation hub at Imperial College London.

Trish is an experienced programme and project manager with a demonstrated history of working in higher education for the past 12 years. Her career in academia began with managing large international consortium research projects, where she coordinated multi-disciplinary teams and collaborated with global partners to advance research in key areas. More recently, she has transitioned into executive education, where she has played a pivotal role in developing and delivering high-impact programmes for senior leaders and professionals, enhancing their skills and knowledge to meet the demands of a rapidly changing world. Prior to joining the University of Leeds in 2012, Trish gained extensive experience in the IT industry across both the public and private sectors. Her work involved implementing new technologies and managing IT infrastructure for both in-house operations and private sector clients, which provided her with a strong foundation in project management, problem-solving, and strategic planning—skills that have proven invaluable in her higher education roles and in her work at the intersection of science and industry.
