Innovate UK, the UK’s national innovation agency, is funding innovative solutions that integrate climate and environmental factors into financial services through its SBRI – Climate and Environmental Risk Analytics for Resilient Finance competition. CGFI is supporting Innovate UK and successful applicants to deliver the next generation of green finance analytics through expert advice and connecting applicants with potential users to shape the development of these innovative solutions early on.

The projects below are funded in the first phase of the competition under the Litigation Risk theme.

Climate Litigation Assessment and Support System

Existing climate risk frameworks (e.g. TCFD) generally identify two key areas of climate risk – transition risks and physical risks.

Whilst tools and networks exist to help investors with identifying and managing these risks, there is, to our knowledge, no comprehensive guidance or support commercially available to help financial institutions (FIs) manage exposure to climate litigation risk (CLR).

CLASS will address this gap by providing guidance and tools that can help FIs assess their CLR and promote Paris-aligned low carbon, climate resilient investments without deterring responsible investment where it is most needed.
