Join us in the new year for an ICEC-MCM webinar, where the team will be delivering a presentation on “Connecting Finance with the real economy: Asset-level data for the construction minerals sectors.”
If financial institutions are to support a transition to a more sustainable economy, they need to understand the real world footprint, risks and impacts of their investments. Asset-level data that connects the location and characteristics of physical production assets with ownership is a key building block to do so.
The Spatial Finance Initiative team will present their work on developing open asset databases for the cement, steel and other industries and how these are being used to support green finance applications and decision-making.
ICEC-MCM is the UKRI Interdisciplinary Circular Economy Centre for Mineral-based Construction Materials, a collaboration between UCL, the University of Leeds, Loughborough University, Imperial College London, the University of Sheffield, Lancaster University and BGS with the support of 25 world-class academics and more than 40 industry partners across the whole supply chain.
