Spatial Finance: Space Technology and data science to transform decision-making in finance

Banco de España hosted a lecture with Dr Ben Caldecott, Director of the Oxford Sustainable Finance Group at the University of Oxford and Director of the UK Centre for Greening Finance & Investment.

The lecture given to Banco de España staff focused on the topic of “spatial finance”, the integration of geospatial data and analysis into financial theory and practice, and how the increasing availability and quality of spatial information will profoundly change how climate and environmental risks, opportunities, and impacts are measured and managed by financial institutions.
